Chapter 3: Developing your research question and proposal

This chapter talks about how you should reflect on your writing situation and look at what potential research questions you could have. You should put time and effort into finding the perfect research question since your paper will be based off of it. To make your research proposal you need to identify your topic, issue, and research question in an introduction paragraph. Next, you should do a review of literature talking a little bit about the sources you have so far. After that you will write out what your plan is to collect information about your topic and issue. Timing and planning is very important so next you need to write out what your timeline is for getting everything done. The last part of your proposal should be all of your sources cited properly.

Chapter 7: Avoiding plagiarism

I think that this chapter is very important because plagiarism can be a serious issue. Intentional plagiarism is the worst because the person is cheating on purpose, but unintentional plagiarism is more unfortunate. This is usually because the person does not know what they did was wrong. Knowing the difference between common knowledge and stuff that isn't common knowledge is very important. To avoid plagiarism you should take very careful notes and make sure you cite everything. You should also make sure to make notes about which ideas you have come up with and which ideas are not your own.

• The National Traffic Highway Safety Administration said that "every two minutes, a person is injured in a drunk driving crash." 

Chapter 5: Evaluating Sources

In chapter 5 it talks about what factors you should use to evaluate a source. You should evaluate the relevance of it by determining if it will help you address your readers needs. You also need to evaluate the evidence to see if it will help with the overall voice of your paper. Looking at the credibility of the author also plays a key part because you don't want to be using biased or false information. Lastly, you should evaluate the digital sources and check the accuracy of your field sources.
